Key Features of the MGSD Gundam Barbatos

This Gunpla kit incorporates the advanced engineering characteristic of the MGSD line applied to the Gundam Barbatos. The internal "Gundam Frame" is a highlight, reproduced in SD scale with a high degree of detail and visibility. Articulation is a strong point, with multi-axis movement in the head, neck, and torso, allowing for expressive and dynamic poses. The cylinders in the abdomen expand and contract with the chest's movement.

The MGSD Gundam Barbatos boasts a detailed Gundam Frame and superior articulation.

The shoulder connections use a swing mechanism to expand the arms' range of motion, and the elbows feature cylinders that accompany the articulation. The knee armor articulates in conjunction with the leg flexion, and the rear knee armor has independent movement.

The special "Iron-Blooded Coating" finish is the most distinctive feature of this edition of the Gundam Barbatos, crafted with layered metallic finishes over the armor, using deep grays and jet-black highlights. The twin eyes are represented by a dual-layer structure with clear parts. Clear parts with a special design are used on the chest, knees, and shoulders, processed to efficiently reflect light. "Real Metallic Gloss Injection" is presumed to be used on fine details to enhance the metallic luster of this impressive Gunpla.

The exclusive "Iron-Blooded Coating" gives the Gundam Barbatos a metallic and robust appearance.

Among the original MGSD line mechanisms applied to the Barbatos is a mechanism in the shoulder armor that allows it to deploy. The mace, its iconic weapon, incorporates a mechanism where pushing the handle extends the tip and four blades deploy synchronously. The 300mm smoothbore gun can transform into its stored state by extracting the barrel and rotating it 180 degrees.

The MGSD Gundam Barbatos includes its Mace and 300mm Smoothbore Gun, with deployment mechanisms.

Incredible posing possibilities thanks to the advanced engineering of the MGSD line.

Mobile Suit Overview: ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos

The ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos is a Mobile Suit dating back to the Calamity War, which occurred about 300 years before the events of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. It was one of the 72 "Gundam Frames" developed by Gjallarhorn, characterized by their two Ahab reactors that provided high energy efficiency, although their parallel operation was complex. The Barbatos was designed to combat autonomous mobile armors.

Centuries later, it was rediscovered on Mars and initially used as a power source by Chryse Guard Security (CGS) in its First Form, with incomplete armor. It was reactivated by Mikazuki Augus during an attack by Gjallarhorn. Subsequently, the Gundam Barbatos became the symbol of Tekkadan, the mercenary company formed by the former members of CGS. A key feature of the Barbatos is its capacity for evolution, being constantly modified and upgraded with parts and weaponry from defeated enemies, which led to multiple forms (1st to 6th Form, Lupus, Lupus Rex). These upgrades were supported by engineers from Teiwaz and the Montag Company, adapting it for space and terrestrial combat. It is one of the few Gundam Frames that retains the traditional design of two vents on the torso. Its name derives from the eighth demon of the Ars Goetia.
