Real Grade (RG) Series Overview
The Real Grade line combines 1/144 scale with Master Grade engineering.
Real Grade (RG) is a line of Gunpla (Gundam Plastic Models) manufactured by Bandai. Debuting in July 2010 as part of the 30th Anniversary project for Mobile Suit Gundam, this line combines the standard 1/144 scale of the High Grade series with the sophisticated internal engineering of Master Grade kits and the intricate detailing typically found in Perfect Grade models. The line's official slogan, "Excitement Embodied," reflects this approach.
Technology: The Advanced MS Joint (AMSJ)
A defining characteristic of the line's early years was the Advanced MS Joint (AMSJ). This technology incorporates a pre-assembled internal frame on the runner, created using a dual-injection technique that combines polypropylene and ABS plastics to create fully articulated joints straight out of the box.
