Key Features
This expansion set provides the Gundam F90 with two radically different operational profiles, each featuring unique mechanisms and weaponry.
Mission Pack S-Type (Support)
This configuration transforms the F90 into a long-range fire support unit.

- Mega Beam Cannon: The primary weapon is a long-range cannon mounted on the backpack. An articulated arm allows it to be deployed over the Mobile Suit's right shoulder to assume a firing posture.
- Quadruple Beam Cannon & Double Missile Pod: Equipped on the forearms, these weapon arrays combine beam cannons and missiles. The model realistically reproduces the power lines connecting them to supplementary waist tanks using coated lead wires, adding a highly detailed touch.
- Cruising Missile: The legs are fitted with large cruising missiles, which feature deployable wings.
- Support Jack: To stabilize the unit when firing its heavy armament, a telescopic support jack at the rear of the waist can be extended to anchor the Mobile Suit to the ground.

Mission Pack E-Type (Electronic Warfare)
This configuration converts the F90 into a unit specialized in electronic warfare and intelligence, based on a completely new design by the legendary mecha designer Kunio Okawara.

- Radome: The most distinctive feature is the large circular radome on the backpack, attached by an articulated connector arm that provides a wide range of motion.
- Directional Jamming Rifle: The primary armament is a directional jamming rifle used to disrupt enemy electronic and communication systems.
- Electronic Warfare Equipment: Additional units on the shoulders and rear waist complement its data-gathering capabilities. The waist components have joints that allow them to move vertically.

Mobile Suit Overview
F90 Gundam F90
The F90 Gundam F90 is the prototype Mobile Suit from the "Formula Project," an initiative by the Earth Federation's Strategic Naval Research Institute (S.N.R.I.) in the late Universal Century. The project aimed to counter the trend of increasingly large and costly Mobile Suits by developing smaller, more agile, high-performance units to break the Federation's reliance on the industrial giant Anaheim Electronics. The F90's main innovation was its modular design based on interchangeable "Mission Packs."
The story of the F90 is told in the Mobile Suit Gundam F90 manga. In U.C. 0120, a Zeon remnant faction, the "Oldsmobile Army," attacks a Federation base and hijacks the F90 Unit 2. This triggers a conflict that leads the 13th Autonomous Mobile Fleet to pursue the insurgents to Mars. It is in this real-world combat scenario that the various Mission Packs, such as the S-Type and E-Type, are deployed to demonstrate the versatility and effectiveness of S.N.R.I.'s new platform.
The modularity of the F90 platform is one of its most celebrated aspects. What are your thoughts on these two new tactical packs? Let us know in the comments below!
