This release marked the fifth entry in the historic HGUC line, launched in December 1999.
Released in 1999 as the fifth kit in the High Grade Universal Century line, the HGUC 1/144 MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki is the classic incarnation of this iconic mobile suit. Though succeeded in regular production by modern "Revive" versions, this original model has not been officially discontinued. Features
This Bandai kit showcases the design technology of the late 1990s. Its entire golden armor is treated with a striking gold plating, offering a stunning out-of-box appearance that requires no paint. The articulation, functional for its era, uses simple pivot joints in the elbows and knees to recreate the mobile suit's characteristic static poses. The weapons, such as the rifle and bazooka, are molded in two halves, leaving visible seam lines. The backpack's design allows the Clay Bazooka to be mounted on its rear, freeing the unit's hands. The beam sabers are included as single, solid pieces of translucent yellow plastic.

The stunning gold-plated finish delivers a premium look straight out of the box.

About the MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki
The MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki is a prototype attack mobile suit developed by Anaheim Electronics for the Anti-Earth Union Group (A.E.U.G.) during the Gryps Conflict. It was originally part of the "Zeta Project," conceived as a transformable unit. However, unsolvable defects in the movable frame's strength prevented transformation, leading to its redesign as a high-performance, non-transformable mobile suit. Piloted by the legendary ace Quattro Bajeena (the secret identity of Char Aznable), the Hyaku Shiki was distinguished by its incredible agility and its iconic golden armor—an experimental anti-beam reflective coating.

This combat-ready pose highlights one of the two included Beam Sabers.
The classic Hyaku Shiki still holds a special place for many fans. What are your thoughts on this original HGUC release compared to its modern counterparts? Let us know in the comments below!
