gMS-α Red Gundam

Designed by Ikuto Yamashita for Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, the gMS-α Red Gundam is an iconic machine. Its distinctive red color is associated with its main pilot in this alternate chronology, Char Aznable. Originally the RX-78-2 Gundam of the Earth Federation, it was captured by Char at the beginning of the One Year War. After its capture, Zeon extensively modified it: Char pushed for the installation of an Alpha-type Psycommu system and Bit weaponry, adapting it to his growing Newtype abilities. These enhancements, along with its arsenal that included beam sabers and Vulcan cannons, transformed the Gundam into a key piece that contributed to Zeon's victory in this timeline. Subsequently, both the Red Gundam and Char mysteriously disappeared during the "Zeknova Incident," only to reappear five years later, in U.C. 0085, with the young Shuji Ito as its new pilot.

METAL ROBOT SPIRITS (SIDE MS) gMS-a Red Gundam: The Collectible Figure

The METAL ROBOT SPIRITS (SIDE MS) gMS-a Red Gundam figure by Bandai Tamashii Nations is a detailed representation of the mobile suit. It measures approximately 155 mm in height and is constructed from ABS, PVC, and die-cast metal components, especially in key joints like the hips, for increased durability and a premium weighty feel. The design has been supervised by Ikuto Yamashita, the original mechanical designer of the Red Gundam in the series, ensuring high fidelity, including details such as the model number engraved on the soles of the figure's feet.

The figure features an advanced articulation system that allows for a wide range of dynamic poses. The shoulder mechanism, with die-cast parts, moves with the internal frame, facilitating complex poses such as holding the Beam Saber with both hands naturally and stably.
