Bandai Spirits has announced the rerelease of the HG 1/144 Messer Type-F02 [Minelayer Equipment] as a Premium Bandai webstore exclusive. This model kit introduces a key tactical variant of the main mobile suit used by the Mafty organization in the film Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash, distinguished by its specialized new equipment and newly molded components. Key Features

Mobile Suit Overview: Me02R-F02 Messer
The Me02R Messer is the mass-produced mobile suit that forms the backbone of the anti-Federation organization Mafty during the events of U.C. 0105. Developed by Anaheim Electronics, its design is a hybrid that combines technology from opposing factions, drawing from the lineage of Neo Zeon units like the AMS-119 Geara Doga and the MSN-04 Sazabi. This heritage is reflected in its imposing silhouette, heavy armor, and characteristic mono-eye. Standing at 23 meters (approx. 75.5 feet), it is considerably larger than the standard mobile suits of its era.

Twelve years after the Second Neo Zeon War, the corrupt and complacent Earth Federation enforces the inhumane "Man Hunting" policy to forcibly deport civilians to space. In this context, Mafty emerges, led by the enigmatic figure Mafty Navue Erin—an alias for Hathaway Noa, son of the legendary Captain Bright Noa. The organization adopts guerrilla tactics and targeted assassinations to destabilize the Federation's elite and compel humanity to abandon Earth.
The minelayer equipment of the Messer Type-F02 embodies this doctrine of asymmetric warfare. It allows the unit to execute area-denial tactics, set up ambushes, and cover retreats—crucial actions for an insurgent force challenging an established power.
