Master Grade Kit Features

This MG kit delivers exceptional value through its design fidelity, complex engineering, and display features. Supervised by original mechanical designer Kanetake Ebikawa, the model offers a faithful three-dimensional interpretation of the artist's concept. It is built on the line's proven engineering standards, adapting the inner frame from the MG Gundam Exia to provide outstanding articulation for a wide variety of dynamic poses.

A key feature of this edition is the newly sculpted "Proto GN Twin Broad Blade." This imposing weapon can be split into two independent swords or combined with the included GN Long and Short Blades for an even larger armament. A unique connection mechanism allows it to be mounted on the back or on the body's hardpoints. For a professional finish, the kit includes a set of waterslide decals and is compatible with an LED unit (sold separately) to illuminate the chest-mounted GN Drive.

GNY-001 Gundam Astraea: History and Legacy

The GNY-001 Gundam Astraea was the first second-generation Gundam, developed by Celestial Being around 2292 A.D. Its primary purpose was to serve as a test platform for technologies to be implemented in the third-generation Gundams. Its chassis tested elements like clavicle antennas for GN particle control and multiple hardpoints for optional equipment—systems later refined or discarded in its successor, the Exia.

The Astraea's history is tied to its pilots, second-generation Meisters Ruido Resonance and Marlene Vlady. Ruido, a former mechanic, and Marlene formed a family with their comrade Chall Acustica, and they had a daughter: Feldt Grace, who would later become a key crew member of the Ptolemaios in the main series.

This family's story ended tragically during a mission to stop a terrorist plot. A catastrophic failure in Chall's Gundam Plutone caused an overload of highly toxic second-generation GN particles. In an attempt to save her, Ruido in the Astraea and Marlene in her Gundam Abulhool managed to eject Chall's cockpit, but both succumbed to the lethal exposure. This sacrifice was not in vain; it compelled Celestial Being to resolve its technology's instability, leading to the development of safe and stable third-generation GN Drives. Thus, the Astraea became a symbol of tragic justice, its legacy paving the way for the advancement that made Celestial Being's ideology viable.
