Premium Bandai has announced a reissue of the "Moonlight Butterfly" Expansion Effect Unit for the High Grade Correct Century ∀ Gundam kit. This is a P-Bandai exclusive rerelease, scheduled for 2025, allowing modelers to recreate the iconic weapon system from the 1999 anime series, Turn A Gundam. This product is an accessory set and requires the HGCC 1/144 ∀ Gundam model kit, which is sold separately.

Features
The "Moonlight Butterfly" effect wings are made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The surface features a multi-color pattern print over which a hologram process is applied to create a variable light reflection. The connection parts that attach to the Mobile Suit's backpack are molded in clear plastic to reduce their visual impact and feature joints that allow the wings' opening and closing angles to be adjusted. The set also includes a milky-white display stand, designed to adjust height and angle for stable flight poses.

The Moonlight Butterfly Lore
The "Moonlight Butterfly" is the ultimate weapon system of the System-∀99 ∀ Gundam. Instead of a conventional weapon, it consists of a deployment of nanomachines from the Mobile Suit's backpack. These nanomachines are capable of disintegrating all artificial technology on a planetary scale, reducing it to silica. Within the series' lore, this power is the cause of the "Dark History" (Kuro Rekishi), a civilizational reset event that ends eras of conflict. The weapon's significance is deepened by the contrast with its pilot, Loran Cehack, whose pacifist nature directly opposes the total annihilation capability he controls.

Assembly Considerations
The base HGCC 1/144 ∀ Gundam kit, released in 2014, is known to have some joints, specifically the wrists and waist, loosen over time. Due to the size and leverage exerted by the expansion set's wings, it is recommended to reinforce these connections before assembly. An effective technique is to apply a thin layer of acrylic varnish or clear enamel to the joint pegs or balls and let it dry completely. This increases friction and ensures the structural stability of the final model.
