HGUC 1 /144 AMX-107 Bawoo - Release Information and Official Images

The High Grade Universal Century (HGUC) AMX-107 Bawoo is a 1/144 scale Gunpla kit released by Bandai in September 2000. As a classic entry in the HGUC lineup, this model represents the Neo-Zeon prototype transformable Mobile Suit from Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. It was originally priced at ¥1,200. Please note that prices may vary depending on the retailer and your location.

Kit Features & Gimmicks

A key feature of this kit is its signature transformation gimmick, which allows the Mobile Suit to separate into two distinct flight units: the Bawoo Attacker (composed of the head, torso, and arms) and the Bawoo Nutter (the lower body). This faithfully recreates one of the most unique aspects of the AMX-107 from the anime series.

In terms of articulation, the elbow and knee joints each offer a 90-degree bend, providing solid stability for standard poses in Mobile Suit mode. While the transformation mechanism allows the knee joints to bend forward, this has limited application for dynamic posing. Care should be taken when rotating the head, as the fin on the back may rub against the collar parts.

Included Contents & Customization

The kit is molded in color and features snap-fit assembly, requiring no glue. The box includes the main AMX-107 Bawoo unit, a Beam Rifle, a Beam Saber, and two types of manipulators (a right trigger-finger hand and a pair of weapon-holding hands).

For modelers seeking to enhance the kit's appearance, some panel lining and detail painting will yield the best results. To achieve an anime-accurate look, applying extra paint is recommended, particularly on the shield. In the source material, the inside of the particle cannons are red, and the Neo-Zeon insignia is yellow. The instruction manual provides a helpful color guide for this purpose.
