The HGUC MSA-0011 S Gundam, originally released in August 2001, is a 1/144 scale model kit that masterfully captures the formidable presence of the Earth Federation's prototype transformable mobile suit from the acclaimed photo-novel series, Gundam Sentinel. Kit Features and Details
True to the HGUC tradition, this kit features snap-fit assembly, eliminating the need for glue. Molded in durable PSPE plastic, it delivers a balance of sturdiness and flexibility. The articulation is commendable for its era, with elbows and knees bending up to 90 degrees, allowing for a variety of dynamic poses. The included arsenal consists of two Beam Sabers, a large Beam Smart Gun with a support arm for stabilization, and a non-transformable G-Core. The Beam Smart Gun can also be conveniently stowed on the backpack when not in use.

While the kit is an excellent base representation, some detailing is recommended to achieve full accuracy to the source material. Applying panel lining with Gundam Markers or paints will significantly enhance the mechanical details. A key area for improvement is the Beam Sabers, which are molded in solid white plastic; painting the beam portion is essential for a more authentic look. Similarly, the included G-Core requires painting to match its appearance in Gundam Sentinel.

A Classic Non-Transformable Design
Unlike its more complex Master Grade counterpart, this HGUC version is not transformable. The S-Gundam Attacker, one of the components of the full mobile suit, was sold separately as part of the EX-Model line. Reissues of this kit from September 2018 onward feature the blue Bandai Spirits logo, while later reprints from mid-2022 also include the updated Bandai Namco logo on the packaging.

About the MSA-0011 S Gundam
The MSA-0011 Superior Gundam, or "S Gundam," is the main mobile suit from Gundam Sentinel. Developed by Anaheim Electronics as a fourth-generation machine, it was assigned to Task Force Alpha to combat the New Desides. A key feature of the S Gundam is its advanced AI, ALICE (Advanced Logistic & Inconsequence Cognizing Equipment), designed to assist the pilot. The suit is modular, capable of splitting into three separate units: the G-Attacker, G-Bomber, and G-Core. Ultimately, the S Gundam and ALICE played a pivotal role in saving Earth by sacrificing themselves to destroy a colony laser.
