The AMX-004 Qubeley is a distinctive prototype Mobile Suit designed for Newtypes, making its first appearance in the series Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. Primarily operated by Haman Karn, leader of Neo Zeon and Axis Zeon forces, this innovative model solidified itself as a symbol of her power and combat prowess.
History and Development
The AMX-004 Qubeley represents a significant evolution in Mobile Suit design, conceived as a next-generation assault unit optimized for Newtype pilots. Engineers developed it based on data gathered from the MS-09R4 Schnee Weiss and the AMX-001 Prototype Qubeley, incorporating numerous technological innovations that allowed it to compete effectively against advanced Mobile Suits during the Gryps Conflict and the First Neo Zeon War.

A key feature is the integration of a miniaturized psycommu system, the first of its kind in a combat-ready, standard-sized Mobile Suit. This system allows its Newtype pilot to remotely control weapons known as Funnels, stored in a container on the unit's rear armor, facilitating rapid deployment and retrieval. Unlike its prototype, the Qubeley sacrifices mega particle cannons for a pair of dual-purpose beam guns that also serve as beam sabers for close-quarters combat.

Additionally, the Qubeley incorporates four independently movable shoulder units—two per shoulder—that assist in Active Mass Balance Auto-Control (AMBAC), granting phenomenal mobility. These units also house the Mobile Suit's main thrusters. It was also one of the first Zeon Mobile Suits to utilize a dual-type optical sensor, contrasting with the traditional mono-eye.

Serving as Haman Karn's personal machine, the Qubeley stood out near the end of the Gryps War, where it clashed with Quattro Bajeena and his MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki. Despite Quattro's skill, Haman and her Qubeley proved superior. The Qubeley remained Haman's personal Mobile Suit throughout the First Neo Zeon War. At the conflict's conclusion, Haman duelled Judau Ashta and his MSZ-010S Enhanced ZZ Gundam. The engagement ended with both machines disabled, and Haman, refusing to surrender, crashed the Qubeley into an asteroid fragment, destroying both the Mobile Suit and herself.

Armament
The AMX-004 Qubeley features an arsenal designed to maximize the effectiveness of a Newtype pilot:
- Beam Gun/Saber: Stored in the forearms, these serve as dual-purpose weapons. When used as a beam saber, the Mobile Suit's hand parts carry them. To function as a beam gun, they remain mounted on the forearms, firing energy beams from the same emitter that generates the saber blade.
- Funnels: The Qubeley carries ten Funnels in a container located on its movable rear armor. These represent technological descendants of the remote-controlled Bits from the MAN-08 Elmeth. They are smaller than Bits because they lack their own power generators, operating instead on energy capacitors. This allows a Mobile Suit to store a large number of them, although they must return to the unit to recharge after operating for a certain period.
- Large Beam Saber: Stored in the Qubeley's left and right shoulder units, this pair of large beam sabers emits a longer and more powerful beam blade than a standard saber. Furthermore, it possesses a more extensive hilt that both hand parts can hold simultaneously.
