Gunpla News Recap: Metal Build Barbatos, Permanent US Gundam Base, and a 40cm Robot Spirit?!

What a week for Gundam fans! Bandai Spirits decided to drop everything at once, giving us major announcements ranging from the first permanent US store to some of the most expensive figures we've seen this year. Let's break down the chaos.

Iron-Blooded Orphans 10th Anniversary

The highlight of the week is undoubtedly the METAL BUILD Gundam Barbatos (4th Form). Priced at a staggering 35,200 Yen, it features a new "Boomerang Mace" and a real fabric cloak. For Gunpla builders, the HG Gundam Zagan from Urdr-Hunt is finally coming in December with its massive shield-pliers. Looking ahead, a new Ichiban Kuji Lottery for 2026 was teased, featuring a massive Barbatos Bust (BUSTISAN) as the A-Prize.

The GQuuuuuuX Wave

The new timeline is ramping up. We have confirmation that the HG White Gundam and HG Char's Zaku II (with new bazooka molds) drop on December 6th. But the wildest reveal? The Robot Spirits Hyper Gundam. This monster stands 400mm tall—bigger than a Perfect Grade—and costs nearly 30,000 Yen. Also revealed: Lucrea Light Dos Murasame figure, the Converge SB Sodon battleship, and even GQuuuuuuX Gummy figures.

On the affordable side, the Mechanical Bust 09 Destiny Gundam SpecII (approx $25) offers incredible detail and LEDs. P-Bandai also dropped a G Frame FA Strike Freedom Option Set with Wings of Light. Finally, for the ultra-rich: The MGEX Strike Freedom [TWILIGHT COATING]. It costs 66,000 Yen ($450 USD) and is exclusive to Gundam Base Japan members. We can look, but we probably can't touch.
