The High Grade Universal Century (HGUC) AMX-004-2 Qubeley Mk-II, released by Bandai in June 2000, stands as the eleventh model in the HGUC lineup. This Gunpla kit represents the mobile suit piloted by Elpeo Ple in the series Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. As one of the earliest releases in the series, it reflects the design and engineering capabilities of its era. While its features may not compare to more modern kits like the 2015 REVIVE version, its value lies in its status as a classic in Gunpla modeling history.

Kit Features

The kit’s assembly is straightforward, utilizing a snap-fit system that requires no glue. Reflecting the standards of its time, the articulation is limited compared to modern High Grade kits. However, the characteristic shoulder "wing binders" feature multiple articulation points, allowing for some flexibility in creating dynamic poses. A standout feature for its release era is that all ten funnels are individual parts—a level of detail more commonly associated with the Master Grade line at the time. To achieve a color-accurate representation, the model relies heavily on the included stickers, particularly for the pink and purple details.

About the AMX-004-2 Qubeley Mk-II

The AMX-004-2 Qubeley Mk-II is a prototype assault mobile suit developed by Neo Zeon for exclusive use by Newtypes during the First Neo Zeon War in U.C. 0088. It is an upgraded version of Haman Karn's AMX-004 Qubeley, equipped with a psycommu system that allows its pilot to remotely control its ten beam-based funnel weapons. Additionally, it features two beam sabers with unique three-pronged hilts that also function as beam guns. Its AMBAC propulsion system, with thrusters integrated into the shoulders and rear skirt, grants it exceptional mobility in space. This particular purple-colored unit was piloted by the young and talented Newtype, Elpeo Ple.
